Communal clashes in Hazaribagh over loudspeakers on Shivratri, vehicles torched

A tense situation erupted in Dumairan village under Ichak police station limits in Hazaribagh district on Shivratri after members of a particular community objected to the installation of loudspeakers at Hindustan Chowk. This led to a heated argument between the two groups, prompting police intervention. Station House Officer (SHO) Santosh Kumar rushed to the spot and attempted to mediate between both parties. Just when the situation seemed under control, stone-pelting started from the premises of Upgraded Middle School Dumairan, which also houses a madrasa.

As soon as the stone-pelting began, SHO Santosh Kumar and other police personnel had a narrow escape. In retaliation, the opposing group also started throwing stones, turning the entire village into a battlefield for nearly an hour. The violence escalated when miscreants torched a Baleno car and two motorcycles parked nearby.

Following the incident, police turned the entire Dumairan village into a security zone, with heavy deployment to prevent further escalation. Trainee IPS officer Shruti Agarwal, Block Development Officer (BDO) Santosh Kumar, and Circle Officer (CO) Ramji Prasad Gupta are camping at the site to restore normalcy.

So far, two people have been arrested, and police are conducting raids to apprehend other accused involved in the violence. The situation remains tense, and additional security measures have been put in place to ensure no further disturbances in the region.
